Transition activities
Dear Year 6 Parents / Carers
Following the allocation of secondary school places, I am delighted to welcome your child to the Putteridge High School community from September 21.
Our school provides unique opportunities for all, with a philosophy that is based on creating an atmosphere that allows students to become confident, independent and creative. Our ethos is centered around student excellence and wellbeing. We aim to excite young people about their learning and to celebrate their successes.
Our staff have a passionate commitment to inspire our students through excellent and outstanding teaching and we have students of all abilities who are taught in both mixed ability and set groups. This is an exciting time for students joining the Putteridge family as they will be the first to experience the new school building and First Class facilities that we can offer in our oversubscribed school. We look forward to getting to know all of our students individually and supporting them in reaching their
full potential in all they do.
At Putteridge High School students are placed in Houses; Blue, Green, Red and Yellow. They will also be overseen by a Head of Year and Pastoral Leader ensuring a full and well rounded pastoral support system is in place to support them. Our pastoral care is outstanding here at Putteridge so please do not worry about the transition from primary to secondary school, we will ensure it is smooth and structured to give our students the best start possible.
Further information will be sent out to you in due course. For now, please see the useful information and video pages within the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Hub page. Please watch the Welcome video as a family so our students can start to recognise some of the staff and get a feel for their new school.
