Please see below for our Admission Arrangements for in-year admissions and for the upcoming intakes into Year 7 in September 2024 and 2025

In-year Admissions

Please apply to Luton Borough Council’s Admissions Team if you would like a place at Putteridge High School this academic year in year groups 7 -11.

Should there be more applications than places available, the following criteria will be used to allocate places. In accordance with the Education Act 1996, children with a Statement of SEN or an EHC Plan are required to be admitted to the school named in the Statement/Plan.

Please see Luton Admissions Team, In Year School Transfer Guide for more information and the definitions for each criterion, available by clicking here  which will take you to the relevant web page.

Determination of Admission Arrangements from September 2025

If you would like your son/daughter to be considered for a place at Putteridge High School for the new intake into Year 7 in September 2025, please apply via your home local authority for a place (i.e. if you live in Luton, please apply to Luton Borough Council).

The national closing date for secondary school applications is 31st October 2024 for the September 2025 Year 7 intake. For details of Putteridge High School’s admission arrangements for September 2025 please click here.

We take a pride in being a very welcoming and inclusive school to all new members of our school community.  If you are a parent of a student of secondary age (11-16) and you want to know more about what it would be like to be part of our community, you are very welcome to make an appointment to look around our school. At the start of the academic year dates will become available to be shown around the school by one of our Senior Leadership Team and will be listed below.

It is always a pleasure to show visitors around - the general comment from visitors is that everyone (adults and young people) appears to get on so well together with a real sense of belonging to a community.

Once you have decided that Putteridge is the right place for your child, you will then need to make an application to the Luton Borough Council’s School Admissions Team. They can be contacted on:  01582 548016 or click here to go to the admissions website.

As soon as we receive your application from the Local Authority we will arrange a start date for your son/daughter.  We are conscious of how difficult it can be to be "the new student" in school and we therefore introduce new students gradually into the school and always ensure that they have some "buddies"  to take care of them whilst they find their feet. Throughout the whole process you, as a family, will have the support of your child's Head of House and Pastoral Leader. They will do everything they can to ensure that a mid-year transfer to Putteridge is as smooth and successful as possible.
