Students are given the opportunity to take part in a wide range of sports throughout the year both as part of the normal curriculum and in extra curricular activities.   All students take part in a minimum of two lessons a week of core PE lessons.  During this time, students will take part in such things as: football; basketball; netball; hockey; rugby; cricket; tennis; badminton; table tennis; gym and dance; athletics; cross country running; bocce and trampolining.

We have been fortunate to gain funding from the National Lottery Fund and from Sport England to purchase equipment to enable students with disabilities to take part in sports alongside their able bodied peers.  We now have specialist trampolining and gym equipment, as well as 20 sports wheelchairs to allow all students to take part in Wheelchair Basketball.

We take part regularly in competitions with other high schools in Luton and further afield; we have boys and girls football teams competing across the town.  Town Sports is an important event in the school calendar.  We have had notable successes with our Badminton team who won the Luton Schools' Championship and came second in the regional Championships.

A number of our students are top sports men and women competing at county, regional, national and even international levels.  Lisa Taylor is the World Kumite Champion for the 14-17 age group, she is also a Sports Ambassador for the Youth Sports Trust and leads others to enjoy and take part in sports.  Sam Bird is competing at national level and we have high hopes for Sam, as he high jumps his way to success - his current personal best is 1.96M - only 0.4m behind the world champion.  Fraser Strachan recently attended an England Midlands Rugby trial, and not only managed to get into the squad but for the year group above!  Fraser has played for Northampton Saints and Olney in the past and it is amazing how he has now moved on to the next level. .  Well done to all of our young people who contribute to sports.
