COVID-19 update following Government briefing on 10th May 2020

On Sunday 10th May, the government set out the next steps in England’s COVID-19 response.

Ever since Putteridge High School closed on Monday 23rd March we have been working to ensure that when we start to re-open it will be within a safe environment for students and staff.

The government’s plan is for a phased reopening of all schools and it sets out an ambition to allow secondary school students with exams next year ‘at least some time with their teachers before the holidays’.  We await further guidance and the government is still to announce when it is planned for other year groups to return.

We look forward to seeing our students return to school and we will continue to ensure that when we start to re-open it will be within a safe environment for students and staff.

Until further details are announced students will stay at home for classes, unless they are already in school as one of the small number of students currently eligible to attend. Please be assured that students who are home schooling will continue to receive the same level of support as those who are in school.
