STEM

Putteridge High School took part in Rampaiging Chariots hosted by Leonardo. 2018 was the first year for the school to enter two teams with both developing team work and used their initiative throughout the day. They did exceptionally well, even better than 2017. Year 9 students came 2nd for Tug of war and reached the semi final for the assault course with excellent driving from all three. Students took turns working as a team and gave each other pointers and support when each took their turn.

Year 9 students took the lead on all soldering / programming, ensuring that the robots worked. This was an outstanding achievement and ensured the work of all the other students was worth while.

Our Year 10 group took a slightly different approach and one driver for each event and came top 10, but had tough competition from Luton 6th Form who developed more advanced robot using the engineering skills taught on their post 16 programmes. A company called Leonardo offer this STEM club at Putteridge High School.
